Artisan Framing is standard for prints in the Limited Edition Monochrome Collection and available in all other collections at special request. These frames are locally sourced and custom crafted my myself (more details below). Thin Mount Frames, the framing option in all other collections, are sourced in the USA and assembled by us locally.
From the Lowcountry woodlands to your home, each Artisan Frame is meticulously crafted from local hardwoods to create a rustic yet elegant look. Wood is procured from either hurricane-fallen trees or local mills.
Each one-of-a-kind piece is brought to life by first thoroughly cleaning and sanding it to reveal it's unique grain and texture. After the corners have been carefully hand joined, the wood is stained with an Espresso finish to enhance the natural qualities of the wood. No two frames are ever the same and have their own individual fingerprint. Custom stains are available upon request.
The final step in my process is to meticulously assemble each individual component together. I start by installing museum quality, glare-free glass to the frame. Next, I add both the cotton rag print and the acid-free double mat. Finally I seal the artwork with a dust cover for added protection and install a French Cleat mount. Each and every aspect is carefully chosen to preserve your piece for years (and even generations) to come.
